offers options for paper, printing and finishes.
Here is what you need to know to make the best choice for your project.
There are an infinite variety of paper stocks for any job. The way paper is measured – by lb. and pt. — is very confusing.
However, these choices are the best for your presentation – pocket – folders:
16 pt card stock: This Deluxe stock feels luxurious to the touch and is ideal for executive-level handouts where making a classy impression is critical.
The .016 inch thickness gives you both durability and firmness that will last a long time. The thickness of the paper will hold ink well, making the colors vivid and clear on each side.
We print our business cards exclusively on 16 pt. card stock.
14 pt. card stock: This Premium paper is slightly less thick at .014 inch. However, you still have the durability, firmness and ability to hold vivid color.
100 lb uncoated card stock: This Quality paper stock is economical option for a presentation folder. It is durable and firm. Uncoated stocks are easier to write on as the surface accepts the ink more readily than a coated stock.
Our presentation folders are printed on a high-quality 4-color press. This allows us to offer full color on both sides of the presentation folder by printing on both sides. The paper is printed before being cut, folded and glued.
Printing full color on both sides is abbreviated as 4/4. However, you may only need black on the inside, which is 4/1 or you may not need anything printed on the inside – 4/0.
UV coating, or ultraviolet coating, is a very glossy, shiny liquid coating applied to a printed paper surface and cured on a printing press or special machine using ultraviolet light.
Aqueous coating is a clear, fast-drying water-based coating that is used to protect printed pieces. It provides a high-gloss or matte surface that deters dirt and fingerprints. The difference between matte and gloss is the “shininess.”
